Design Story

Electrostatic extension with hybrid scale.

Halcyon pairs a 10mm graphene dynamic driver with dual mid-high balanced armatures and four electrostatic tweeters. The dynamic driver carries bass weight and texture. The armatures lock in vocal articulation and midrange clarity. The electrostatic array opens the top end with air and micro-detail.

The 4-way crossover divides the spectrum cleanly between driver types. Acoustic chambers are simulated then machined for consistent phasing. The result is a monitor that moves air like a dynamic, resolves like a balanced armature, and extends like an electrostatic — without any one character dominating the others.

BassFlow Tuning

Physical bass control built into the body.

BassFlow uses a mechanical tuning plate to shape low-frequency behavior. Adjustable airflow controls bass weight and texture independently of the crossover — giving the monitor a solid low end without crowding the vocal range.

Cable System

Symphonium Thera silver cable.

The included Thera cable uses monocrystalline silver conductors for low resistance and clean signal transfer. Hardware finish matches the Halcyon shell.

Precision Engineering

Digitally simulated. Machined from aluminum.

Driver placement, nozzle geometry, and acoustic chambers are digitally simulated, then machined from 7075 aluminum. The result is consistent phasing and repeatable production tolerances.

Good Sound / Bad Fit

First of all, I am using Canary, a flagship product of the same AAW company..
I feel very high performance for the price, so I am very satisfied with the sound performance.

However, as a product that is worn only as an audio device, I think the fit is also an important factor.

This design will be very much like and dislike to Asians, and it is more of a fit factor than an aesthetic part.

I have introduced it to many people and almost all of them complained of having pain.

No matter how good the product is, listening to music with pain is not an easy task.

It is unfortunate that good products set standards only for European and British Americans.

Halcyon Electrostatic Hybrid In-Ear Monitor

The Halcyon painted a perfectly black background, has a smooth midrange and a nicely clean top-end. Wide soundstage and instrumental separation and placement are excellence. Hearing new musical instruments especially on the treble for the first time and bass response is very good on Norm filter too. Highly recommended.

Questions

What to know before listening.

What driver system does Halcyon use?

Halcyon uses a tri-hybrid system with a 10mm graphene dynamic driver, two mid-high balanced armature drivers, and four electrostatic tweeters.

What makes Halcyon different from a standard hybrid IEM?

Halcyon adds electrostatic tweeters to a dynamic and balanced-armature platform, giving the upper range air and fine detail while keeping bass physical.

Does Halcyon support custom fitment?

Yes. Halcyon can be ordered as a universal monitor or configured as a CIEM using ear impressions.

How does BassFlow tuning affect the sound?

BassFlow is a mechanical tuning plate that adjusts low-end weight independently of the crossover. It shapes bass behavior without altering the core driver platform.

What cable does Halcyon include?

Halcyon includes a Thera monocrystalline silver cable with low-resistance conductors and hardware matched to the monitor shell.

What type of listener is Halcyon for?

Halcyon is built for listeners who want a full-range monitor with physical bass, clear vocal presence, and electrostatic treble extension.
